El Neoconceptualismo es un movimiento literario surgido en Chile a fines del milenio pasado. Las premisas del movimiento se orientan a explorar las posibilidades de creación de textos literarios a partir de una recombinación de literatura pre-existente. Sus creadores, Carlos Almonte y Alan Meller, se conocieron en la Universidad de Chile, mientras estudiaban literatura hispanoamericana. Allí realizaron los primeros ejercicios en torno al plagio. La definición del arte, un ensayo compuesto exclusivamente de trozos extraídos de la obra de Umberto Eco, constituye el primer texto propiamente neoconceptual. Tras explorar la técnica durante cuatro años, el 2001 publican en India (Sarak Editions) el primer compendio literario neoconceptual, el cual incluye manifiestos, poesía, narrativa y drama.
Neoconceptualism (Carlos Almonte, Alan Meller)
Neoconceptualism is a literary movement created in Chile at the end of the last millennium. Its creators, Carlos Almonte and Alan Meller, met at the University of Chile, while studying Hipanoamerican Literature. There they conducted the first exercises around plagiarism. The definition of art (La definición del arte), an essay composed entirely of pieces drawn from the work of Umberto Ecco, its the first Neoconceptual text. After exploring the tecnique for four years, in 2001 they publish in India (Sarak Editions) the first Neoconceptual literary compendium, which includes manifestos, poetry, fiction and drama; all texts exclusively produced from recombination of pre-existing literature.
