I am currently a second year student studying Creative and Professional Writing at the University of Nottingham. Alongside this, I am a member of The Mouthy Poets, a collective of up and coming performance poets based in Nottingham. Since becoming a member, I have been lucky enough to be chosen to work on a number of spoken word projects, and have had extra poetry work come from the experience gained from this. One of the projects that stand out for me is one in which I was working alongside two different schools for the Write Here Residency, hosting poetry workshops and taking the children to a local art museum for their final bout of inspiration. As well as this, I was invited into Redhill Academy as guest poet for their specialisms week, which consisted of me planning and hosting both page and performance poetry workshops, and performing some of my own work. I am at the point now where I would like to focus on my professional career and concentrate on poetry on the page, which makes this the ideal, and an exciting opportunity for me to do so.
