Dane Mainella is an actor, filmmaker, and poet living in Philadelphia. His first book, Desire (2012) is a transcription of every desire experienced over the course of a day. Mainella has also written for the poetry and poetics section of The Volta and is the co-founder of the web-based poetry and poetics collective, d^a^t^a press. He is currently in post-production of Driving Not Knowing, a film he co-wrote, co-directed, and starred in, expected to be released mid-2014. He also starred in the 2013 University of Pennsylvania Theatre Arts production of In The Next Room. Mainella has co-written and starred in three short films–real life-like (2012), travel slides (2013), dive (2013)–made in collaboration with Dylan Hansen-Fliedner and Jay Jadick.
